WRITER Stan Walinets, whose four-line poems have been a popular feature of The Northern Echo for seven years, was in Darlington last night for a book-signing session.
The 71-year-old, whose pithy offerings have focused on everything from President Bush to the NHS, visited the town's Ottakar's Bookstore, to the delight of fans.
The focus of attention was his new book, The World According to Walinets, which has been published by Iron Press.
It includes more than 300 examples of Mr Walinets' four-liners, on subjects that have shaped local and global history.
