Durham Coast League: Easington, who have gradually moved up the table into third position, aim to keep the pressure on leaders Murton and Silksworth by defeating visitors Bill Quay this afternoon.

Following an indifferent start to the campaign the Colliers' form has taken off and they are within striking distance of Silksworth.

They name a strong side with Russell Tarn, Mark Race and Michael Massey all returning, while Bill Quay whose form has receded following a good start are content to rely on the same XI selected for last weekend's washed out fixture.

Murton have the cushion of an 11 points lead after winning last Saturday when Silksworth were held to a frustrating draw.

Murton make the short journey to Seaham Park and will no doubt hope that professional Calvin Stephenson maintains the form he has shown with both bat and ball. On his day, he can take any attack apart and is always a potential match winner when at the wicket. Silksworth visit second from bottom Houghton who despite having failed to win, are not the pushovers they once were.

Captain Ian Hauxwell, who has done much to improve the club's fortunes, shows no alteration to his side and Silksworth anticipate fielding a strong line-up.

Ryhope are fourth and at Castle Eden name Glyn Lamb and Dan Pearson, a youngster with potential, retains his place.

Peterlee, 24 points adrift at the bottom and having suffered eight defeats in 13 outings, face another stern test at home to Hylton whose batting line-up is boosted by the return from holiday of the former Dawdon player, Gary Braithwaite who has enjoyed a good opening spell with his new club.

Dawdon, for whom Shaoib Akhtar has done much to revive performances since his switch from Philadelphia, are at Boldon CA unchanged. Boldon are stronger with the inclusion of Kevin Straugheir and Andy O'Connell. Shaun Erskine is unavailable and David Downs reverts to the second XI.
