AN artist conquered Africa's highest peak to raise money for vulnerable children and young people.
Sarah Oates from Crook, collected nearly £3,000 for The Children's Society.
Ms Oates, a 24-year-old fine arts graduate, took part in a ten-day trek up Mount Kilimanjaro, in Kenya.
She said: "I enjoy a good challenge and this trek was perfect.
"Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was very hard but extremely rewarding."
