THE owners of a well-cared-for cat found in a village near Darlington are being urged to come forward.
The beige and black striped tabby was spotted outside the Spar shop, in Hurworth, before being rescued a week ago by the local branch of the Cats' Protection League.
Julie Coker, from the league, said the cat had been incredibly well looked after, though she did not have a collar or identity chip. She said: "I was so sure I'd only have her for a day or so because she obviously has an owner. She hadn't been on the streets long because she was clean and healthy. Her owners may have moved house and she has got lost."
