A COUNTY Durham school has earned a health award.
Woodland Primary School, in Teesdale, was presented with a County Durham and Darlington Healthy School Award by Kath Toward, of the Durham Dales Primary Care Trust.
The award is supported by the trust and aims to help children make healthy lifestyle choices including healthy eating, physical activity, citizenship, emotional health and well-being, anti-bullying and sex and relationships education.
Mrs Toward said: "Today's young people are tomorrow's adults, and by raising their awareness of the importance of their health and well-being, we will hopefully see fitter and healthier people in the County Durham are in future."
Headteacher Marilyn Gordon said: "Staff and pupils from the school have worked hard to achieve this award by looking at all areas of the school to see how life could be improved, identifying strengths and areas for development."
