OFFICERS and staff at a North-East police force are to help inspire potential recruits.

A recruitment video produced by Northumbria Police is to be shown at job fairs, career events and public events.

It aims to display the range of jobs on offer and demonstrate that all applicants are considered, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.

Staff have volunteered to play themselves in the various roles. The video will show the sequence of events after an armed robbery at a newsagents, from the initial police response to the eventual arrest of the offenders responsible.

Jobs featured include firearms officers, air support staff and the marine unit.

The public are advised that the filming of the armed robbery will be staged at Blaydon Discount Centre, Blaydon between 9.15am and noon tomorrow.
