AN animal charity is holding a pet health day to give owners the chance to book free check-ups and microchipping.
The event has been organised by the Harrogate and District branch of the RSPCA and will take place on Wednesday, November 24, at Vets4Pets in Hookstone Park, Harrogate.
A microchip is recommended by the RSPCA as an effective way of permanently linking pets to their owners.
Jill Johnson, Harrogate branch administrator, said: "The RSPCA has been able to reunite cats and dogs with their owners months, or even years, after they first went missing and have been given up for lost, thanks to a microchip."
Appointments can be booked by calling (01423) 886249.
