A RECORD entry of more than 100 calves and yearlings has made tomorrow's North of England Aberdeen-Angus calf show one of the largest shows of the breed in the UK.
Organised by the North-East of England Aberdeen-Angus Club, the event at Skipton mart has drawn entries from across the North and from as far south as Northampton. Prizes total £3,000.
"The entry reflects the continued expansion of the breed in the North in response to strong consumer demand for quality Aberdeen-Angus beef," said club secretary, David Evans, of Tree Bridge Farm, Nunthorpe, Middlesbrough
The show starts at 11am and the judge is Marion Tilson of Berwickshire, president of the breed society.
