A PATIENTS' watchdog is working with officials to address concerns over transport at a new health centre.
The Hundens Lane facility, in Darlington, is being developed at a cost of £1m to provide services for older people.
The centre, opening next autumn, will include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, a gymnasium and other services.
But the local branch of the Parkinson's Disease Association said patients getting off at the nearest bus stop, in Yarm Road, would have to walk a considerable distance to cross the road at traffic lights before heading down the other side of the street to the centre.
Members were worried that such a journey could prove difficult.
The Darlington Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) Forum is working with the primary care trust and borough council to address the matter. A transport review is being undertaken.
PPI member for Darlington, Jean Thurkettle, said: "We hope this potential difficulty can be resolved as it is vital that users of these services are not unduly concerned or compromised in trying to access the centre."
