A DEVASTATED mother paid tribute to her teenage daughter who lit up the lives of everyone she knew.

Samantha Parker, aged 17, of Redcar, died following a road crash on Monday.

The teenager, known as Sam, suffered multiple injuries and died later the same day in the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough.

She had been a passenger in a Renault Clio that crashed near Cat Flatt Lane, Marske, at about 1am.

Her mother Natalie Jessop, of Redcar, said: "Sam was so full of life and had so many friends.

"She lit up the room and she always had a smile on her face which once seen was never forgotten.

"She was no angel, but a loveable devil and she will be greatly missed."

She added: "I want to thank the hospital staff at James Cook for all the support they have given."

A former pupil of Rye Hills School, Sam leaves two sisters, Diana, 21, and 14-year-old Sarah.

An inquest into the death was adjourned at Teesside Coroners' Court on Wednesday.

Cleveland Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident or anyone who saw the blue Renault Clio in which Sam had been a front seat passenger prior to the crash to get in touch. Anyone who can help is asked to contact (01642) 302626.

A 20-year-old Redcar man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving and was due to appear before Guisborough Magistrates today.
