A MAN has died after he fell into the River Wear.
The emergency services were called at 10.30am yesterday after passers-by on the Wearmouth Bridge, in Sunderland, saw the man fall into the river from one of its banks.
A lifeguard recovered his body, but the man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.
