A programme to get families involved in green activities has won a national award.
The monthly SureStart Goes Wild club, the first of its kind in the country, now has 80 families from Redcar and Dormanstown taking part in environmental activities.
The club's enthusiasm has won them the SureStart Partners in Excellence award, announced at a ceremony in London. Mum Tracy Brimble, who attended the awards, said: "I'm thrilled to be part of the winning team."
Trips have included excursions to Danby and Coatham Marsh and the club's next big date is its Christmas party on December 21 at St Peter's Church, Redcar.
