PUPILS took to the stage this week for a drama club's first annual pantomime.
The Performing Arts after-hours club at Cestria Primary School, Church Chare, Chester-le-Street, presented Cinders, a musical panto version of the classic Cinderella fairy tale.
Deputy headteacher Sarah Barningham, who organised the show, said: "This is the first production by the club, but it has gone down really well.
"The children have really enjoyed it, they are enthusiastic and love performing in front of an audience. It has really lifted their confidence."
The 55-strong cast are all pupils in Years five and six.
