Role models: Members of the Yarm group of the National Women's Register meets on alternate Tuesdays and the next meeting is on February 1, at 7.45pm. The topic will be Female role models or heroines - who are yours? NWR, a registered charity, and most meetings are held in member's homes so there is a friendly, informal atmosphere. Ceilidh dances: Tees Valley Ceilidh will hold its first event on Friday, from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, in Yarm Fellowship Hall, West Street. It will feature the band Accordance and the caller is Dave Turner. Ceilidhs will be continue on the third Friday of each month. Admission is £3 for adults and £1.50 for juniors. Candlemass service: There will be a Candlemass service in Yarm Parish Church of St Mary Magdalene, next Wednesday, at 7.30pm

Joint service: Pupils from Butts Lane Church of England Primary School have been taking part in club sessions. The culmination of the sessions is a service at the Orchard Community Centre on Sunday, at 10am.
