Royalist Anita Atkinson, of Weardale, County Durham, has a listing in the Guinness Book of Records for having the largest collection of royal memorabilia. She is delighted with the announcement.

"I'm chuffed to bits. I wish them all the best and will travel with a friend to Windsor to wish them well and enjoy the atmosphere.

I think there has only ever been one real love in Charles' life and that is Camilla, so they should be married.

Charles met Camilla Shand in 1970 and a relationship started in 1972. I think he probably knew then he loved her.

But, as is historically the case with the Royal Family, the relationship had to stand the test of time, and he was sent on an extended naval mission.

When the Queen showed signs of wanting to marry Philip, she was sent away to test the relationship.

I think it would have happened a long time ago if Diana hadn't died as she did.

Just a few months before the accident, she had given her blessing to the wedding.

Historically, the female members of the Windsor family outlive the men.

The Queen will be 80 next year and is still very strong.

If she lives like her mother did, it is possible Charles would not be King anyway.

Camilla will be a Royal Highness, but not Princess of Wales or Queen, which I think will suit her.

She has proved her worth by always remaining in the background, never saying a word to the media or

trying to steal the limelight from Charles like Diana did.

They are obviously happy together and I think Charles is setting a good example - recognising the sanctity of marriage by marrying his soul-mate.

I'm sure there are people with strong views against the couple, especially as he is a prospective head of the Church of England, which frowns on divorce.

But to me they are living together, love each other and are making a commitment by marrying.

Surely that is better than 'living in sin'."
