LOCOMOTION National Railway Museum will be transformed into a floral haven as the Shildon and District Flower Club celebrates its silver jubilee.
Some of the finest engines in the railway museum's collection will provide a magnificent back-drop for the vast and colourful displays this weekend.
Mayor of Sedgefield Borough Council Marie Predki will open the event tomorrow at 12.30pm and a demonstration by John Thexton will follow.
The exhibition will be open to visitors from 10am until 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and every mother entering the museum on Sunday will get a free chocolate and the chance to win a Locomotion in Bloom bouquet.
The demonstration tomorrow is a ticket-only event. Tickets, at £4, can be purchased in advance by calling (01388) 816166 ext 4512.
* Judges from the Gulbenkian Awards visited the museum this week after it was shortlisted for the Museum of the Year award.
A decision as to whether the mult-million pound attraction reaches the final will be made in the next couple of weeks.
