PLANS to covert a guest house and bar into flats in a market town has sparked concerns.
Lesley Jackson is applying for the guest house conversion at Farndale Guest House, Horsefair, Boroughbridge.
But Boroughbridge Town Council has told planners of their concern over loss of accommodation.
A spokesman said: "Since the application went in, beds have possibly been lost at Rose Manor, definitely lost at The Three Horse Shoes and other bed and breakfast accommodation has been lost."
But planning officer Robin Forrester, recommending approval in a report to the council, says the site is in a suitable location within walking distance of the town centre.
He said it was a logical reuse of a prominent building in the conservation area.
