YOUNGSTERS in Hartlepool rose to the challenge at an event organised by the construction industry.
Year six pupils from the town's primary schools - including Eldon Grove, Hart, Kingsley and Rift House - spent the day with representatives of the Construction Industries Training Board. They tackled construction-related projects at the event, on Tuesday, at Hartlepool Sixth Form College.
It was funded by the Government's Excellence in Cities Gifted and Talented initiative to develop the learning and creativity of young people.
Karen Adams, co-ordinator for the Gifted and Talented initiative in Hartlepool, said: "This was a great opportunity for these young people to find out more about the construction industry."
