A TEENAGE tearaway has broken the conditions of an anti-social behaviour order less than a week after it was imposed by magistrates.

Stacey Ord, 19, of Village Farm, West Cornforth, admitted throwing stones at a house window in the village on Saturday.

District judge Michael Fox, sitting at Newton Aycliffe, heard that on Monday of the same week she had been made the subject of a three-year order in an attempt to control her unruly behaviour.

The ban specifically prohibits Ord from throwing or otherwise propelling any object at or toward any property or person without good reason or lawful authority.

Ord is also banned from being drunk and disorderly in a public place, and from harassing, intimidating, threatening or abusing any person or inciting others to commit such offences throughout the county. Peter Smith, prosecuting, said that the window of the house was broken, but it was not clear whether Ord was responsible because another person had been throwing stones.

Gwen Burnett, mitigating, said: "The victim, Mercedes De Dunewic, has set up a website on which shocking statements have been said about Stacey, a 19-year-old girl who has had behavioural problems.

"It does not excuse the behaviour but goes some way to explaining the provocation."

District Judge Wood warned Ord that she faces prison if she breaches the order again.

She was fined £75 and ordered to pay £50 costs.
