Kevin Ryan is going to be a trainer to keep on the right side this year and he looks the man to follow at Redcar this afternoon, where he's fancied to be in double form with Mystic Man and Raymond's Point.

Mystic Man goes well fresh and is a proven performer on soft ground, something that will stand him in good stead in the Carlsberg Redcar Straight-Mile Championship Handicap over a mile.

The seven-year-old starts the season on a fair mark, has come to hand at this time of year for the past two seasons and is taken to get the better of Terry Mills' tough Norton, who also goes well with cut.

Give in the ground is ideal for Raymond's Pride, who looks to have a fighting chance in the Easter Bunny Handicap over his optimum trip of seven furlongs.

The gelding was in good form with wins over five furlongs on heavy and over six on soft at Newcastle in April last year and a recent spin over seven furlongs on Polytrack should have put him spot on for this.

Sweet Potato is an interesting runner for David Barron in the Redcar Racecourse Conference Centre Handicap over a mile and a quarter after getting off the mark at Southwell last time.

The way he stuck on over the mile that day allied to his pedigree suggests he may well improve over this trip and he handled easy ground well enough on his debut last year.

He's well drawn and should give a good account. At Kempton Day Flight is an interesting runner in the Johnno Spence Consulting Magnolia Listed Race over a mile and a quarter.

John Gosden's four-year-old quickly made up into a smart performer in the early months of last turf season and ran a blinder when a close fourth in the French Derby at Chantilly in June. He goes well fresh, has the cut in the ground that he needs and, although he won't be much of a price, he'll be hard to beat this time.

He looks capable of winning a decent race this year when he gets his ground. Mick Channon's Compton's Eleven has been running well in decent company in Dubai and looks the one to be on in the JSC PR Straight From The Horses Mouth Handicap over six furlongs.

At Warwick, Channon's smart Millennium Force, who goes well with cut in the ground, looks the best bet on the card in the West Midlands Conditions Stakes over seven furlongs.

Over the sticks at Sedgefield Signed And Dated looks worth a wager at reasonable odds in the Harry Lane Memorial Handicap Hurdle over two miles and one furlong. This consistent sort, who knows how to win, was a bit below his best last time over two miles and three furlongs but did the best of those that raced up with the strong pace and won't mind the drop to this trip.

John Wade's team has been in tremendous form this year and his Recent Edition, who was off the mark over three miles and six furlongs at Newcastle last time, is fancied to follow up in the SIS Handicap Chase over three miles and three furlongs.
