A PROPOSAL to build a small industrial estate in a village has met local opposition.
Malton Town Council is recommending the scheme, in Old Malton, should be turned down by district planners.
The council heard from residents concerned about the plan by Fitzwilliam (Malton) Estates and Redworth Construction.
They want to build four industrial units on agricultural land opposite the 12th Century St Mary's Priory Church.
The council voted to recommend refusal to Ryedale District Council, which will look at the proposal next month.
