A LATE goal from Nigel Binks was not enough to save Bedale from defeat at Fishburn Park and relegation to the second division.

The home side took the lead five minutes into the second half through Michael Young and Gareth Reed broke clear to increase their advantage in the 70th minute.

Bedale again pressed forward and Binks grabbed his second goal of the season to halve the deficit in the 83rd minute. Although the visitors then pressed Fishburn back, they failed to make any further impression.

Billingham Wanderers 3

Richmond Mavericks slipped to their fifth consecutive defeat when entertaining Billingham Wanderers, who took a 13th-minute lead through Paul Arnold.

Mavericks were back on level terms within a minute when Chris Layfield scored his second of the season, but the Billingham side regained the lead 12 minutes later through Richard Walker and Timmy Greening made it 3-1 six minutes later.

The home side pushed the visitors back in the second half, but failed to make the breakthrough until the 90th minute when Andrew Mollitt scored from the penalty spot.

Richmond Town 2 Carlin How 4

Richmond took a tenth-minute lead through Bobby Elliott, but Glen Smith equalised three minutes later.

Adam Emson gave the home side the lead for the second time five minutes into the second half with his 20th goal of the season. He now trails the league's leading scorer Wayne Gredziak, who has left Richmond to try pastures new, by four goals.

Carlin How drew level in the 57th minute through Martin Say and Gary Sivills gave them the lead for the first time 11 minutes later.

Say got his second of the match and fifth of the season in the last minute to secure a win which sent Carlin How back to the top of the table.

Stokesley SC 0 Dormans FC 1

Stokesley Sports Club were relegated to the second division following their latest defeat, although they held Dormans for 70 minutes before a trademark Glynn Swinnerton free kick gave the visitors the lead.

Hartlepool Chester 4

Neil Swift gave Hartlepool Chester Hotel a 20th-minute lead, but Ben Jenkinson equalised five minutes before half-time and the home side took the lead in the 70th minute through Wayne King.

The visitors drew level with a Neil Gutteridge penalty as the match entered the last five minutes and they went ahead with a minute remaining. The Rugby Club keeper was sent off when he handled outside the penalty box and Paul Graham scored from the resulting free kick.

Chester Hotel then broke in the last minute and Michael Ross booked a place in the final.

Darren Kokes gave the visitors a fifth-minute lead, but Simon Nelson made it 1-1 in the ninth minute. Kokes restored the RA lead a minute later and Steven Walker made it 3-1 in the 27th minute.

Neville Fuller added a fourth before Kokes completed his hat-trick four minutes before half-time.

Craig Ormerod pulled it back to 5-2 ten minutes into the second half, but Peter Gormley made it 6-2 before Kokes got his fourth.
