FIVE groups took part in a Battle of the Bands contest staged to raise money for charity.
The event, at Bedale High School, raised money for Cancer Relief and to help former pupil Robert Simpson travel to South America and Africa during his gap year.
The winning band was Insyte, featuring Daniel Evans (bass guitar), Bruce Kinloch (percussion), Alec Hunt (vocals) and Ben Fessey (lead guitar).
Other bands taking part were Dead in the Centre, Recoil, Suspect and the Donna Petrie Trio.
