AN ORGANIC farming collective that supplied fresh produce to hundreds of families has been immortalised in a photo exhibition at a local restaurant.
At its height, the Growing Green co-operative provided about 150 families from across Darlington, South Durham, Teesside and North Yorkshire with fresh vegetables every week.
Photographer Richard Glynn documented the work of the co-operative, which ended in October last year, and has put together a display at The Waiting Room vegetarian restaurant, in Eaglescliffe, near Stockton.
From six acres of land, near Walworth Castle, County Durham, Growing Green supplied its organic vegetable crop to a network of members by tricycle for 14 years.
Volunteers would plant, weed, sow and deliver in return for organic produce picked that day.
Mr Glynn said: "I wanted to capture the atmosphere and beliefs of Growing Green through an exploration of the place, the plants and the people.
"When I realised that the project was ending, I felt it important to record something that had become part of many people's lives."
The exhibition runs at The Waiting Room, in Station Road, until May 16.
