THE ancestral home of folk hero Bobby Shafto will open its grounds this weekend in aid of the Red Cross.
Whitworth Hall Country Park, near Spennymoor, will be open between 2pm and 6pm on Sunday.
The 73-acre estate of parkland features woodland walks, an ornamental lake, a Victorian walled garden and orchard and Britain's most northerly vineyard.
Food will be available for visitors to hand-feed the deer.
