AN exhibition of the work of one of America's greatest photographers is coming to the region at the end of the month.

The Green Dragon Museum, in Stockton, will be showing a collection of work by Edward Weston. The exhibition, organised by the Hayward Gallery for the Arts Council England, will feature 24 prints, including some of Weston's most famous images.

He made a living taking conventional portraits before beginning to experiment with unusual angles, intense lighting and fragmented views in the early 1920s.

The free exhibition, which focuses on his work from 1929 to 1943, is on display at the museum, behind Stockton High Street, from Saturday, April 30, to May 28.
