TEENAGER Sophie Edmondson, right, has won a hotly-contested competition.
The 14-year-old, a pupil at Hurworth School, near Darlington, has won a contract with Model Search UK, after winning the Darlington Model Girl 2005.
The competition was held at the King's Head Hotel, in Priestgate. Thirty one girls were in the final.
In second place was Lanchana Green, while Adele Upex was third.
Kerry Calvert was crowned charity model girl because she raised £145 for Save The Children.
The four will represent the town in the national final in November.
