A MAN who has terrorised neighbours on a Loftus estate has been banned from the area.

David Puckrin, formerly of Sycamore Walk, Loftus, cannot enter the Westfield Estate for two years.

Coast and Country Housing brought an anti-social behaviour injunction against its former tenant on the grounds of years of violence.

If he breaks the conditions of the order, granted by Leeds Combined Court, he could be arrested.

Coast and Country say his behaviour included violence against individuals and setting fire to cars on the estate.

Mr Puckrin's father, Graham, has also been targeted by the housing company in an attempt to protect other residents.

Mr Puckrin senior has been handed a suspended possession order, which gives Coast and Country the right to apply for an eviction warrant to re-possess his house.

The rulings ban both men from engaging, or threatening to engage, in conduct that is capable of causing a nuisance to residents and Coast and Country housing staff.

They are said to have been involved in anti-social behaviour over recent years and the housing company is now confident that this latest action will send out a clear message to all residents.

Louise Harding, tenancy compliance manager at Coast and Country, said: "We are very pleased with the ruling, which will help to protect law-abiding residents on the Westfield estate.

"We have a very strict policy to deal with anti-social behaviour and we will not tolerate it.

"Last year we were successful in bringing our first anti-social behaviour order against a 15-year-old from Grangetown, and we will continue to work with key partners to help eradicate anti-social behaviour.

"It's unfortunate that a small minority of people engage in activities that have an adverse effect on the quality of life of the local community."
