LINDSAY Johnson is preparing for the biggest game of her life when the Hartlepool-born defender steps out in the Womens' FA Cup Final on Monday.

Charlton Athletic stand between Johnson and the perfect end to a perfect year. The central defender was called up by England and an appearance in the showpiece match of the domestic season is the icing on the cake.

"I'm really excited," Johnson said prior to the clash at West Ham United's Upton Park ground. "I've never been to a final before and I can't wait really. I think we can do well. We've got a good squad and we're really positive about it.

"It will definitely be the biggest game I've ever played in and I think it will be the same for a lot of the girls.

"We've got a couple of girls who have had a few goes at the FA Cup final and not managed to win it, while Rachel Unitt has won it twice.

"But for me it will be the biggest game of my life."

Johnson is expected to be given the job of marking one of England's top strikers, Eniola Aluko.

The pair met during the international get-together and Johnson says she is relishing the challenge.

"I'm sure me and her are going to have a bit of a tussle," she said. "She's quite quick and nippy but I think I am just as quick, so it will be a good battle and I'm looking forward to playing against her."
