THREE secretaries at Darlington Memorial Hospital will stage a summer ball to raise money for cancer charities.
Ann Lancaster, Sharon Hayton and Baljit Hubery are organising the "glitz and glamour" ball in aid of colorectal and breast cancer.
They are seeking help from businesses to donate raffle prizes.
Tickets for the July 8 event cost £30 and include dinner and entry to the raffle.
The women have been offered help from the doctors' mess fund and the Darlington and County Durham Acute Hospitals charity trust fund.
Miss Lancaster said: "We really want this to be a success so it can become an annual event."
Anyone who can donate a raffle prize, or wants to buy a ticket, is asked to contact Ms Lancaster on (01325) 743517.
