A TEENAGER who made life a misery for his neighbours has been given an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (Asbo).

Prolific burglar Wayne Dabbs, 14, of Parsons Avenue, Newcastle, is a persistent youth offender who has breached several court orders in the past.

The two-year order went into effect yesterday, on his release from custody.

It was applied for by Northumbria Police and prevents Dabbs:

* behaving in a manner which will cause alarm, harassment or distress;

* entering or remaining in any enclosed premises for any unlawful purpose.

Any breach of the Asbo could lead to Dabbs being returned to custody for up to two years.

PC Debra Worthen, who led the case, said: "Dabbs was wreaking havoc in the Byker area, which resulted in some of the residents being afraid to leave their homes.

"Hopefully, this order will restore the quality of life for people in the area. If Dabbs does breach the order he could face serious punishment from the courts.

"Northumbria Police will not tolerate anti-social behaviour, no matter the age of offender.

"This successful Asbo application shows we will pursue the minority who are causing problems and they will be dealt with."
