A TOWN centre stepped back to the 1940s this weekend with a musical celebration and memorabilia exhibition.
Shoppers in Bishop Auckland were serenaded by Sluggers Boogie Box as they browsed the military vehicle display in Newgate Street on Saturday.
In the Newgate Centre, The Fenner Sisters proved to be a hit as crowds gathered to watch them sing a number of Andrews Sisters classics.
The Kevin Lee quartet was also a success.
A host of memorabilia was on display in a shop in the centre and The Discovery Centre, in the Market Place, had a number of exhibits, including gas masks and newspapers from the time. The exhibition will continue until June 18.
