Leadgate: JUNE'S meeting was presided over by vice presidentMargaret Hillary, and Mrs Westthorpe read her theme If You Think You Can - Then Do it.

The minutes and correspondence was dealt with by Mrs Hedley, secretary, and the treasurer's report was given by Nancy Wilson.

LindaRichardson reported as delegate at the annual general meeting and afterwards Helen McCrea talked about her work in the Third World for Traidcraft. Joy Young gave thanks.

The raffle was won by Olga Donnison and first place winner of the competition, a tea towel, was Mrs Frost.

THE June meeting was opened by the president with the singing of Jerusalem.

The minutes were read by the secretary and verses were read by Mary Herbert and Miriam Owens.

Linda Richardson gave a report on her attendance at the AGM. Speaker Glynis Grainger gave a talk on Schindler and the vote of thanks was given by Sylvia Hobbs.

The competition of a Beer Stein was won by Miriam Owens, Margaret Anderson and Sylvia Dimambro.

Barbara Thompson won the raffle prize.
