PEOPLE in Sunderland are being offered the chance to record their memories of life during the Second World War for the BBC's People's War website.
The corporation is collecting memories on all aspects of the conflict that will serve as a national archive for future generations.
Story-gathering sessions are being held in many Sunderland libraries. People can add their story to the website or a member of staff will do it for them.
The sessions are as follows: City Library and Arts Centre, July 21, August 31, September 28 and October 26, all Wednesdays, all starting at 2.30pm;
Hendon Library, July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12, all Wednesdays, starting at 10.30am;
Monkwearmouth Library, July 29, August 26, September 30 and October 28, all Fridays starting at 10.30am;
Silksworth Library, July 8, August 12, September 9 and October 14, all Fridays, starting at 10am.
