FIREFIGHTERS spent an hour trying to remove a cow from a beck.
A crew from Reeth fire station were called to Townend Hall Farm, in Reeth, shortly after 3pm on Tuesday.
The cow had become stuck while crossing a beck.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said: "The cow was suffering from a calcium deficiency and had weak legs. The crew lifted it out using various lines and ropes and a lot of manpower and it was returned to the farmer unhurt."
