A MUCH-NEEDED park was launched at the weekend with activities and entertainment.
The opening of the Eastfields/Westfields Doorstep Green in South Moor, Stanley, was the culmination of a three-year project, which cost about £270,000.
The park was developed by South Moor Partnership, working together with Derwentside District Council and supported by Groundwork West Durham.
Organisations at Saturday's event included Supporting Parents Network, the Green Corridor Neighbourhood Partnership, Sure Start Stanley and Derwentside Primary Care Trust.
The day featured a health tent and activities including willow weaving and kite making.
