NEWCASTLE-based Norstead has won a £2m contract to work on Ikea's Gateshead store.
The project includes upgrading and extending heating, lighting and ventilation in the furniture superstore.
Norstead is also working at Ikea in Brent Park, Lakeside, Warrington, Milton Keynes and Wednesbury. It has also worked on the stores at Edmonton, Nottingham, Leeds and Glasgow.
Robert Pratt, managing director, said: "We are very pleased to have won another contract with Ikea. We have been working with them for over ten years on ten of the current total 13 stores and they're one of our key retail clients."
Norstead works principally in the retail, commercial and pharmaceutical sectors, but the company is also working on significant hotel, care home, health and sports stadium projects across the UK.
Turnover is £30m and the company directly employs 180 people. The head office is in Newcastle and there are regional offices in Glasgow, Leeds and Maidenhead.
Norstead is one of four property related divisions - Metnor Property Group, Metnor Infrastructure Services and Metnor Construction - within AIM-listed Metnor Group.
Annual turnover for the group stands at £66.3m.
