TICKETS are on sale for a community play involving more than 40 youngsters.

Theatre company Crash Bang Wallop and Stokesley School are behind the production of Oliver, which also features ten adult cast members.

As part of the project, Paul Busby, head of music at Stokesley School, and Danny Greenhalgh, director of Crash Bang Wallop, are conducting a range of music and drama workshops for the school's feeder primaries.

All the children in the cast are from the villages surrounding Great Ayton and are aged from nine to 17.

Principal parts are taken by Sam Cornish and Daniel Jarvis, both from Great Ayton, as Oliver and Dodger respectively.

The choreographer, Emma Richardson, will take the part of Nancy, and Mr Greenhalgh will play the rogue Fagin.

The part of Mr Bumble will be taken by Simon Bateson, from Hutton Rudby Dramatic Society and Ben Lambert from Teesside Operatic Society will play Bill Sykes.

Rachel Ranson, from Ingleby Barwick, will play Nancy's best friend, Bet.

The show runs from Wednesday to Saturday next week at Stokesley School. Tickets are £5 for adults and £3 for concessions from the box office on (01642) 722192.
