A COUPLE celebrated their diamond wedding with a family trip to York.
Madge and George Walker, both 81, from Neville's Cross, in Durham City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a trip to the historic city accompanied by their two daughters, sons-in-law and four of their five grandchildren
Mr Walker served with Durham Police for almost 30 years, rising to the rank of sergeant and serving in Hartlepool, Bishop Middleham, Peterlee and Murton.
Mrs Walker worked in an architect's office at Peterlee and Durham City and was a stalwart member of the Women's Institute in the city.
