A TEENAGE soldier who suffered severe head injuries during a fight in a nightclub died early today, police said.
The 19-year-old was found unconscious near the dance floor of Escapade nightclub in Gladstone Street, Darlington, at around 1am on Saturday, December 12.
The teenager, a serving soldier based at Catterick, was taken to the James Cook Memorial Hospital in Middlesbrough, where he died early today.
A spokesman for Durham Police said: "A teenager who suffered severe head injuries following an altercation inside a County Durham nightclub at the weekend has died."
Three teenagers have been arrested in connection with the incident and all have been released on bail, police said.
The teenager, from Glasgow, will be named once next of kin have been informed.
