LOOSE horses caused havoc for motorists in a part of Darlington this morning.
The animals wew running free along Yarm Road, near to the Cummins plant, according to eyewitnesses.
Rebecca Hooton, who works for mobile phone manufacturer Orange, said: "We are on the top floor and I looked out and couldnt believe my eyes really.
"There have been some horses on some unused land for a couple of weeks."
She said that no one had been injured, but traffic had been brought to a standstill and police.
The horses eventually went back to the field of their own accord.
