POLICE are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 40-year-old man who went missing from his home this week.

Simon Pearson, of Lower Dunsforth, near Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire, was last seen by his family at his home at about 10.30am on Wednesday.

The last known sighting of him was at 11am that morning, walking along the B6265 south towards the A59, which is about a mile from his home.

He left his home in a distressed state without his wallet, keys or mobile phone.

He is about 6ft and was last seen wearing dark blue jeans, a green and brown camouflage jacket with a grey top underneath. He was also wearing sunglasses.

Inspector Bob Moore said: “Simon enjoys outdoor pursuits including fishing and shooting and we believe he may still be in the countryside around Lower Dunsforth, Whixley and Green Hammerton.

He may take to farm outbuildings or sheds for shelter.

“We are asking local residents to check their outbuildings for any signs of occupancy.”
