Elizabeth “Lizzy” McChesney, better known by the stage name Lissy Trullie, is a New York singer that oozes style, no surprise that she used to be a model. Lissy has only been on the stage five minutes and she’s already proved a match for headliners The Cribs. Her music is on a middle-ground between eighties guitar pop, Blondie, and the old school razor sharp riffs of The Strokes. The singer comes off as Patti Smith crossed with Edie Sedgwick: a paragon of arty downtown cool. Flying through a set of noisy garage rock indie songs, Lissy works the small audience with her wonderful stage presence, and soon the majority are all bopping along. Trullie’s cool throaty purr is her strongest musical asset and is the perfect accompaniment to her heavy beat fast tracks. She resembles singer Ladyhawke by swapping synth for staccato guitar jangles. Trullie plays a cover of Ready for the Floor by Hot Chip and suddenly the venue is filled with the excited voices of the audience. She also plays hot tracks Bad Boy, Money and Self-taught learner which the crowd go wild for. Expect big things from Lissy Trullie coming your early in the New Year.
