A MAN was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation today after being pulled from a fire by a neighbour.
The neighbour saw smoke coming from the fourth floor flat on St Lawrence Road in Byker, Newcastle, at 5.30pm. Two fire crews from Byker put out the blaze, which was caused by an unattended pan.
The resident was taken to Newcastle General Hospital by ambulance.
