A MAN discovered riding a ladies' push bike on a motorway was arrested because detectives believe the bike was stolen.
Police found the man riding the turquoise bicycle on the southbound carriageway of the A1, near Leeming, North Yorkshire, at 5.30am on Thursday morning.
They are now appealing for the owner of the bike, believed to be from the Londonderry area of North Yorkshire, to come forward.
Detectives say the owner may not have noticed the bike is missing or have reported the theft to the police.
The man, from West Yorkshire, has been bailed pending further inquiries.
Anyone who may know the owner of the bike should contact Northallerton CID on 0845-60-60-247.
