POLICE have cordoned off a North Yorkshire field after the discovery of a Second World War bomb.
Army bomb disposal officers were called after the 250lb bomb was discovered at Ebberston, between Pickering and Scarborough.
It was found during the restoration of a Second World War aircraft.
A police spokesman said: Due to the size of the bomb a 300m cordon has been placed around the scene as a precautionary measure.
It is though the bomb may have to be buried and it could take a couple of days to deal with this incident, however there is no concern to local residents.
Police will remain at the scene until the bomb has been made safe.
