A VILLAGE primary school closed this morning for the rest of the summer term because of an outbreak of suspected swine flu cases.
A total of 68 pupils and five teachers at High Coniscliffe Primary School phoned in absent this morning prompting Darlington Borough Council to close the school.
Cases of suspected swine flu have also been reported at five other schools and nurseries across Darlington.
Three confirmed cases have been reported at Red Hall Primary School and two pupils have been sent home from Hummersknott with suspected cases. There has also been one confirmed case at each of Branksome School, Firthmoor Primary School and George Dent Nursery.
A teenager has been sent home from Nunthorpe School, in Middlesbrough.
People should phone their GPs or NHS Direct on 0845-46-47 for information and advice about swine flu.
