A FIRE in a flat on a major road into Darlington is causing serious traffic disruption.
The blaze broke out at the flat in North Road this afternoon.
Police closed the busy road - one of the main links to the north of the town - to allow fire fighters to tackle the flames.
Motorists are warned to avoid the area and delays of up to an hour are expected.
