A WOMAN was confronted by a 5ft black and yellow snake in her bathroom this morning.
She made the shocking discovery at her home in the Thorntree area of Middlesbrough.
Firefighters from the Grangetown station were called to the scene at 1.46am where they resorted securing the huge reptile in a box normally used at community events.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Fire Brigade said the snake was taken by fire officers to a RSPCA facility in Great Ayton.
It is not known where the snake appeared from, she said.
