A VILLAGE'S traditional annual Burns supper will be held later this month to raise funds to keep the community looking its best.

The event will be held at Ceddesfeld Hall, in Sedgefield, on Saturday January 24 starting with reception drinks at 7.45pm for a meal at 8pm.

The event marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns.

Bruce Cunningham will Toast the Haggis and there will be a piper, poetry and songs with the traditional Auld Lang Syne to complete the evening.

Cheques to be made payable to Sedgefield Town Council.

Proceeds go to Sedgefield in Bloom for projects in the village.
